Letter from Dr. Ahlemeyer
From July 27, 2020
Dear Maroa-Forsyth School District Families,
Friday at another Special School Board meeting, the In-Person & Remote Learning Specific BUILDING Guidelines were approved pending changes based on the discussion at the meeting. We will need today to make those changes and put the guidelines in a format that is clear, concise, and in depth enough for you to make your decision of In-Person Learning or Remote Learning.
Please be on the lookout on Tuesday, July 28th for an email from either Mrs. Reynolds from the Grade School, Dr. Kahler from the Middle School, or Mr. Stewart from the High School. They will be sharing a packet of information with you that will answer your questions regarding transportation, cleaning & disinfection, COVID-19 supplies, frequently asked questions (FAQ), entry to the buildings, hallways, academics, PE/recess/weights, class size, classrooms, lunch, band & choir, health & safety, and Remote Learning procedures & policies.
Armed with this information, we will then ask you to fill out a Google form indicating both your choice for In-Person or Remote and if In-Person whether you will be transporting or using district transportation. You will have until Tuesday, August 4 to complete the form. The link to the form will be in the email from your Principal. In addition to filling out the form, it is critical that you also register for the school year. We have many who have not registered and you need to use our on-line system to complete that. In-Person registration will be by appointment only the week of August 3 for mainly new families or for special situations.
We understand this is an extremely troubling time for all for many reasons. One of our biggest challenges is the frequent changing of the guidelines from ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education), IDPH (Illinois Department of Health), CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention), and the Governor's office. Please stay flexible, as we would not be surprised if we have to change our plans. In the meantime, be kind and take care of yourself and those around you.
With Maroa-Forsyth Trojan Pride,
