Academics

Maroa-Forsyth School District curriculum sets high standards for students starting in kindergarten to help prepare them for success as adults.

Maroa-Forsyth School District continually ranks as one of the best schools in Illinois. Check out our school report card to see how our schools rank.

Grade School

Maroa-Forsyth Grade School is committed to educating our students using Common Core Standards. From kindergarten through fifth grade our curriculum focuses on reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language. In addition, we have a dedicated music teacher for grade school students to explore their cultural interests and have a bit of fun.

Middle School

Common Core Standards are also implemented at Maroa-Forsyth Middle School. In sixth and seventh grades, the curriculum includes math, reading, English, academic vocabulary, and social studies ELA (English language arts). When students get to eighth grade, reading, English, academic vocabulary, and social studies ELA are still part of the curriculum, while the math curriculum shifts to pre-algebra and algebra.

Our well-rounded middle school curriculum also includes music appreciation and gives musically inclined students the opportunity to join our band or chorus classes.

High School

The Maroa-Forsyth High School curriculum meets the needs of all students by offering a variety of educational opportunities. This is the time when students start seriously considering all their options for the future: college or trade school, military, workforce, or gap year. For those interested in college, we offer dual-credit courses with Richland Community College as well as advanced placement English literature, English language, chemistry, and U.S. history.

Maroa-Forsyth also sees the importance of the fine arts in creating well-rounded adults. We offer strong art and music programs with several teachers dedicated to bringing these subjects to life.
