Congrats to all of us...we have awesome teachers and students! The full interactive electronic district report card is now live and accessible to anyone that would like to view it at illinoisreportcard.com.

Playoff Journey 2019 - Congratulations to our Football Team/Program on an outstanding regular season! Now, let's all enjoy the ride of the playoffs...Go Trojans!!

Halloween 2019 - Thank you and congrats to all as yesterday was another huge success because of you. Every building did something a little different and it was a great day to deepen relationships albeit exhausting!

Need to Know

Calendar 2020-21 - Reminder, that our District Calendar Team will be meeting on Monday to plan out 2020-21...if you have feedback you want considered please email me...thanks.

District App - We are excited to launch our new customized district app in January that we think all will like a lot...in order to pull this off, the app requires a fair amount of data entry on a monthly basis so we are seeking those interested in doing this work to contact Phil Applebee. We hope to make this a Schedule B 3% additional stipend for next year. This year we would pay the hourly rate of $21.

Middle School Future Planning - The next Community Engagement meeting is Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 6:30 PM at the Middle School. This meeting is setting up to be a pivotal meeting in deciding the course of our Middle School...please consider coming.

eLearning Days - This week both our Board of Education and the Regional Office of Education approved our application and plan to implement eLearning Days. As you know, this allows us to count a day as a day of attendance when we are not here due to a school closing. The ROE let us know we were the first school district in the county to seek and be granted the eLearning Day program approval. We are not able to start this program/option until January 1, 2020. This gives us time to make more detailed preparations and to communicate the eLearning Day program to parents. Due to the unanticipated roll out of this program this year, all non-certified teaching staff will be paid for that day if an eLearning day is used. If we continue this program next year, the time for that day will have to be made up at another time through the approval of the supervisor.

School Closing Guidelines - Speaking of eLearning days, attached are the guidelines used to determine a school closing for your information...it is also posted on the website.

To Ponder

  • Forgiveness is seldom successful on the first try.
  • "Inches make the champion." - Vince Lombardi
  • "You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it." - Margaret Thatcher
  • "Triumph often is nearest when defeat seems inescapable." - B.C. Forbes
  • Choose people who choose you. The end.
  • Success is no accident. It's hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing.

Enjoy the extra hour this weekend!
