Dear Parents,
We need to announce that next Friday, March 5, 2021 will be a Remote Planning Staff day. In other words, there will be no student attendance or student learning on this day either in person or remotely. During the pandemic, schools have been allotted Remote Learning Staff Planning days.
We need to implement this day because 28 of our staff members have appointments for their 2nd Covid vaccine on Friday, March 5 and it is impossible for us to cover those staff members when they are gone. As you may know, educators are in group 1b and considered an essential worker and it is critical for those staff who want the vaccine to get them as soon as possible for their safety and the safety for all. The scheduling times/date of this 2nd vaccination is out of our control.
We totally understand that changes in our calendar have a huge impact in the lives of our families. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that this advance notice is helpful to you. The reality of the pandemic continues to impact schools at unprecedented levels such as this calendar change despite overall improvements in many areas.
