Meet Adam

Mr. Adam Ibbotson has over 20 years of experience in education and currently serves as the superintendent of schools for Maroa-Forsyth CUSD#2. He began his career as a chemistry teacher at Olney East Richland after earning his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in 2000. In 2005, he moved to Central Illinois, teaching at Glenwood High School and later at Williamsville-Sherman district, where he taught U.S. History, chemistry, and physics.

Since 2015, Adam has held various administrative roles, including educational specialist, junior high assistant principal, director of educational services, and principal at Sherman Elementary. He has also contributed to curriculum alignment, implemented RTI processes, and facilitated community engagement for a school facility referendum. Additionally, he has managed Title Grants and other state and federal programs.

Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in middle-level education, a master’s degree in natural sciences with a concentration in chemistry, and a master’s in educational leadership, all from Eastern Illinois University. He also completed a postgraduate certificate for school superintendent from Illinois State University.

Adam is married to Kate, and they have two children: Claire, a junior at Evangel University, and Charlie, a senior at Williamsville High School.
